When you don't feel like doing anything, being compassionate to yourself is essential. It's a normal feeling, and you don't have to feel guilty about it.

Here are 5 things you can do:

  1. Spend time in nature- Simply sitting near plants or changing your environment can bring a change in your mood.
  2. Deep breathing- Try taking deep breaths without thinking of anything else. It will calm your mind and relax your body.
  3. Play your favorite music- Even if you don't feel like listening to music, play your favorite songs. It will soothe and energize you. Music helps in reducing pain and increases serotonin levels.
  4. Talk to a friend – Reach out to one of your friends. Share or vent out your feelings.
  5. Check with yourself – Check if all your physical and emotional needs are met. Ask if you are hydrated, hungry, or in need of sleep? Or if you need time alone or with people? Depending on your answer, do the needful.

Not wanting to do anything doesn't necessarily mean you have some mental illness. But it's best to reach out to a doctor if you experience a persistent low mood or feel low on energy often. But otherwise, keep in mind that sometimes, doing nothing is exactly what you need.
